Hello......just delivered my favourite cake so far this year. The weather was fantastic for Sarah and Damians Wedding last week at the pretty Pembroke Lodge in Richmond park. The day was full of spring and so was the cake. I hope you like it!

What a fantastic weekend I have just had at the National Wedding Show Olympia. So many lovely Brides to be. It was lovely to meet you all and I very much look forward to making your cakes.

It's that time of year again where we get out there and showcase our new designs to the masses. Please come and visit us at The National Wedding Show at London Olympia on the 18th, 19th and 20th of February. http://www.nationalweddingshow.co.uk
We will be there in force on stand J51 and very much look forward to meeting you. Below is one of our new cakes for the exhibition based on a beautiful dress design.

To all of my lovely clients, past, present and future....A Very Merry Christmas! I will be steering well clear of all the cakes and sweets and tucking into some serious savouries :)
Have a fantastic break and I look forward to meeting you all in the New Year, from me and my one legged 'Snow Chicken'! xx

Wow....what a day. A 6 hour round trip through the snowy back lanes of Surrey to deliver a snow themed cake on a very snowy day! My poor bride had to cancel her Wedding day and re-schedule a day later due to massive snowfall over night. Thankfully the venue was extremely understanding.
Cain Manor in Churt, Surrey. A beautiful and enchanting location, especially on a sunny and snow covered day.

I just delivered these beautiful vintage cupcakes to an amazing windmill on the Norfolk Coast.
Cley Windmill near Cromer, a stunning building for a small and intimate Wedding. A beautiful sunny day too!

Hello! I havn't blogged for a while, but just thought I'd update you with a couple of things.....firstly my new additions Dotty and Nutmeg. After the demise of Florence, the egg count was low and so we have new members of the team. I have to say that photographing a chicken is extremely hard! They never seem to stop moving their heads. I did manage to catch Nutmeg however. And just to let you know that we are in the Finals of 'British Baker of the Year'. The awards are on the 8th of September so keep your fingers crossed for us.....and watch this space!!

Hello!
I just wanted to say, I delivered to the most beautiful venue last week. Rivervale Barn in Yateley Hampshire. A fantastic oak framed barn surrounded by the prettiest of gardens. If you are looking for somewhere to get married then do check it out, it's stunning!
Contact the Barns at http://www.rivervale-barn-weddings.co.uk
or call 01252 413 232.

It's not often I blog twice in one week, but sadly on Thursday the 18th we lost one of the team. My favourite chicken 'Florence' died. :( She'd been looking a little sad for a few days and despite a trip to the vet, decided to leave us. My lovely neighbour Eddie, who used to feed my girls from time to time, wrote this lovely dittie as a send off, it made me smile!
Gone! Can't be, it was so quick
The sad demise of Flo' the chick'
Pecking around with a Cluckedy Cluck,
Sadly now just one dead duck!
Well, not a duck....but similar to....
One thing's for sure, we'll all miss you......
Bye Bye Florence xxxxx

Hello all!
Remember that gorgeous book I told you about in my last blog, well the photographer is a lovely chap called Marc Wilson. He took some beautiful pictures of my work on the day and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to take beautiful pictures of your Wedding Day! Check out his work at http://www.unionphotography.co.uk

Hello!
I had such a beautiful day last week. The sun shined as I drove from London to Bath to take part in a photoshoot for a gorgeously styled book all about how to create your dream wedding. The book will be full of exciting new trends, with organic and eco options. As well as a few of our beautiful cakes!!
The book will be published in November. Watch this space and I'll fill you in a bit more at a later date. It's going to make a lovely engagement gift or coffee table book.

Eggtastic......not that I want to go on about how wonderfull my girls are (the chickens)
But occasionally the odd egg escapes the cake and ends up on my plate. But have you ever seen an egg as yellow as this one?? I was compelled to photograph it.

Hi!
Well I promised you a look at my twist on an apple cake! Recently made for a family of famous cider makers, don't ever think that your Wedding cake has to look traditional. Use it as a means to express who you are as a couple. I love it when clients ask me to create something 'A little different'.....be creative. This cake even had the odd beetle and windfall creepy crawlie!

I'd just like to wish all my lovely clients a 'Happy Easter', I hope you all had a lovely long weekend doing fun things. I have to say, I had the most relaxing and work free weekend. It mostly consisted of gardening and eating chocolate.....but that's what Easters all about.
Today I am finishing off a rather beautiful Wedding cake for a family of cider makers. It's not traditional by any means, so if you'd like to see the finished result keep your eyes peeled and I'll post a picture soon!
So to my first post. For all those animal lovers out there you will smile, for those who prefer chickens in a kebab, then stop reading.
I love my girls, the girls being my friendly egg laying team. Loved by me so they lay yummy eggs to make my cakes. The baking days are so busy now, they need to up the production or I will threaten them with the 'Kebab' word.
Today they all escaped, I think they had it planned for days.....a little adventure into several of the neighbours gardens, everything looks so much more exciting over there! Thankfully I have learnt that a mixture of porridge and couscous works a treat. I still had to climb several fences to bring them home under my arm. Glad it wasn't raining.![]()
Bad Bad Girls
Ok, so this whole blogging thing is all a little new to me. I've been a technophobe most of my life, so anyone that knows me will be most impressed that I have discovered the art of social networking.
I've always been good at mastering anything involving creativity.....so long as it does not involve a computer!
So here's to my new blog page, if you want to know what I've been up to in the world of cake, then this is where to look.
Signing out.
